The Story From the Beginning
I woke up in the morning.
“Good morning,” Yassin said to me.
Who is Yassin?
He is my invisible assistant!
He is my secret, something I have only revealed to a few people... because I don’t want people to think I’m strange.
I greeted him with a yawn, then stretched in bed.
I pulled the blanket over myself and wrapped it tightly around me as I tried to go back to sleep.
“Sir, you have to wake up!” Yassin told me.
But I didn’t answer.
My eyes were open, though, as I lay on my side.
He was right. He was always right...
I had to wake up, get out of bed, and go to the café to start working!
But then something stopped me.
My pupils widened slightly.
I was troubled by something I had just sensed.
I was used to it by now, but I never expected them to come this early.
Yassin noticed my condition and checked on my mental state.
“Sir? Is everything all right?”
I remained silent, still lying on my side.
I closed my eyes in despair and whispered,
“They’re back... Yassin.”
Yassin fell silent as he looked at me.
Then he calmly said,
“Sir! Resist them.”
I was almost paralyzed by their presence.
I could barely move—only slightly, as if a faint paralysis had taken over my body.
Oh, God... it’s morning!
Why would they come this early?
Isn’t nighttime when monsters are supposed to appear? So why are they here now?!
They had been around me all night yesterday, and I hadn’t been able to sleep comfortably because of them.
Who were they?
I called them the Coronusians, after Cronus, the Greek god who swallowed his own children.
He was one of the Greek gods I was fascinated by.
I gave them that name because they were greedy, just like him.
They craved all of my time.
They wanted me to remain afraid.
And their presence robbed me of my will.
That is my side of the story.
As for my psychiatrist’s side...
He doesn’t see me as anything more than a mentally ill patient.
So who is right?
Am I really just mentally ill?
Is all of this nothing more than something my mind has created?
Putting my doctor’s opinion aside...
Somewhere between the unknown, reality, and the illusions I experience, I was now paralyzed by their presence.
But I didn’t ask for help.
Yassin lives inside me.
He knows everything.
He can feel what I feel, and he can even move me.
Seeing that I was paralyzed, he opened my eyes, which I had closed.
My eyes opened, but I was still completely surrendered... I had given up on myself.
But Yassin refused to give up on me.
He moved the tip of my finger.
And suddenly, I felt myself regaining control.
Yet I still didn’t move.
I simply left the movement to Yassin.
I mean, who wouldn’t indulge themselves a little if they had someone like Yassin in their life?
The Coronusians were still watching me, angry that I had broken free from their hold.
But I tried my best to ignore them.
Yassin interrupted my thoughts, cutting through their oppressive presence.
“Sir... come on. Wake up! Wake up and welcome the day!”
When I didn’t respond, he asked for permission to move my entire body.
That was our usual routine.
He always asked for permission before moving my body.
I gave him permission.
He moved my hand, pushing the blanket away, then pulled my body upright until I was sitting on the bed.
I moved my hand and rubbed my eyes, yawning once again.
But Yassin intervened again.
He cut short my sluggishness and stretching, moving my legs until my feet touched the floor.
I felt the cold wooden floor beneath them.
The air outside the blanket was cold too.
Yassin noticed it.
He could feel what my body felt.
He grabbed my coat and helped me put it on while I surrendered control to him.
I felt a little lazy that morning.
Yassin went over and turned off the air conditioner because of the cold.
Even though it was my body that was moving...
It wasn't my will.
It was Yassin's will, acting through me.
Every now and then, I drifted away from reality, distracted by the Coronusians.
Meanwhile, Yassin was busy outside, choosing my clothes for the day.
