Letter 29: Epilogue

1 min read

Poppy,

It's been a year since you were killed Poppy and I miss you every day. I won't lie, I have good days and bad days. I have to constantly work on controlling my powers to stay feeling comfortable and confident. And I have to work everyday to accept the way life is now, though I still often long for the life we could have had. But I'm doing it. Magnar helps a lot.

Now I'm working with plants that were once extinct, and finding new cures, achieving what we always wanted to do together.

I'm also using all of my elemental magic. Being able to be my full self has been so meaningful. I use my ice to freeze the plants that the Healers Guild request, so they can be transported without losing freshness. I use my fire to keep the seedling room at the perfect temperature, and well you already know how I use my water and earth power.

But the most exciting news of all? Nella and I have created a whole new species of flower. It produces seeds with the power to reduce pain, more so than any pain relief tonic we have already. It's also beautiful.

I had the honour of naming it, so of course I chose Poppy.

Forever your friend

Willow
