Chapter 26
Letter 26

Poppy,
Both of my plants are flowering now!
The library has felt very different today. We received a letter that was read to us all in the canteen during breakfast, informing us of activities at the Temple and Guildhall last night. It seems that the Combat Guards were spread thin, but they did manage to destroy all of the ancient “wraiths”. I had to smile at the vagueness of the details they gave. Though I suppose if the Kingdom knew how close we came to a second First War, there would be outright panic.
But thankfully, it seems like that saga is over. The Arcane Guild plans to begin repairing the fissure immediately, now that the threat has gone.
Also, because the Combat Guards were working so hard last night, they won't be arriving here until tomorrow to sweep the vaults. That means that we all had the day off.
I took Magnar for a flying session outside in the sun, before I went to visit Nella. She's serious about me working with her, and I think I might.
It feels strange to think that Marcus was responsible for his actions. You're gone because he wanted power. So much has been ruined because of him. I'm just so relieved that I managed to put an end to the darkness he started.
Forever your friend
Willow
