Letter 23

Poppy,

I think that this is it. If I'm going to find answers, it will need to be tonight. And more than that, the whole library is in danger now.

This evening, one of the Class 2 Librarian's Assistants was sent to sublevel 5 and reported that the vault door was open when she arrived.

The Chief Librarian closed the vaults and sent word to the Citadel. Combat Guards are making the journey, but you know how far it is, they won't arrive until the morning. And, while I feel relieved that something is finally being done, there's talk that the vault wards are flickering.

I know it makes more sense to sit and wait. The Combat Guards will listen even if the Chief Librarian won’t. But Poppy, if the wraiths are powerful enough to open vault 5, the wards won't last until morning.

Someone has to act now.

I still don't know why the wraiths are here, but whatever their purpose, it won't be good.

Maybe I haven’t trained enough, but I’m finally connected with every part of my power, every part of me.

I have to make sure Marcus's actions don't hurt anyone else.

I feel prepared and ready. I know I can do this.
