Chapter 46 β Ascension of the Core Gu (Part 1)
After leaving the mountain range where he had encountered the Golden Thunder Eagle King, Li Tianyu continued flying through the wilderness.
His journey through Central Continent had gradually settled into a simple routine.
Travel.
Find a suitable beast group.
Steal their Gu worms.
Leave.
Find a city.
Exchange the Rank One and Rank Two Gu worms he had accumulated for Rank Three Gu worms.
Then leave the city and continue traveling.
He deliberately avoided selling too many Gu worms in a single place. Instead, whenever he entered a city, he visited several different shops and spread out his exchanges.
This prevented any single merchant from noticing the enormous quantity of Gu worms he was continuously bringing in.
Then he would leave the city once again.
And the cycle would repeat.
During the wilderness portion of his journey, Li Tianyu continued searching for suitable beast groups.
Whenever he encountered one with a manageable number of beasts and only a single Myriad Beast King, he would stop.
Ground-based beast groups were especially convenient.
He could use Fire Path Killer Move β Crimson Flame Bind to restrain a manageable group at a time.
Then he would activate Fire Path Killer Move β Crimson Soul Snatch, allowing the flaming weapons to attack the restrained beasts while carrying the theft ability.
Once the Gu worms were stolen, he would immediately collect them.
Then he would end Crimson Flame Bind and move on to another group.
He never lingered unnecessarily.
After several such encounters, the number of Gu worms inside his aperture continued to increase.
By the time evening approached, Li Tianyu finally spotted a city in the distance.
He descended.
After entering the city, he first found an inn.
He ordered a meal and ate quietly.
Once he had finished, he rented a room for the night.
Inside the secluded room, Li Tianyu sat cross-legged.
His attention entered the Dao Repository within his Blazing Ember Gu.
His eyes flashed with satisfaction.
5,210 Rank Three Gu Dao fragments.
This was the result of only a single day's harvesting and exchanging.
'Not bad.'
Li Tianyu nodded inwardly.
His accumulation speed had increased considerably now that he had settled into this routine.
More importantly...
It was finally time to begin advancing his core Gu worms.
His gaze settled on the Blazing Ember Gu.
'The first one should be Burning Lotus Gu.'
One of his greatest advantages had always been his terrifying primeval essence recovery.
If he wanted to advance his entire combat system, improving his recovery ability had to come first.
Li Tianyu immediately issued an order to the Blazing Ember Gu.
'DeducΠ΅ the Rank Three advancement recipe for Burning Lotus Gu.'
The Blazing Ember Gu trembled.
Rank Three Gu Dao fragments began disappearing from its Dao Repository.
Then...
It entered dormancy.
Ten days.
That was the estimated time required for the deduction.
Li Tianyu didn't waste those ten days.
He continued following his usual routine.
He traveled through the wilderness.
He searched for beast groups.
He stole Gu worms.
He entered cities.
He exchanged lower-ranked Gu worms for Rank Three Gu worms.
Then he left again.
Ten days passed quickly.
Finally...
The Blazing Ember Gu awakened.
The moment it did, a vast amount of information entered Li Tianyu's mind.
The complete Rank Three advancement recipe.
The required refinement materials.
The refinement sequence.
The precise quantities.
The temperature requirements.
The timing of each step.
The points where the refinement was most likely to fail.
And the methods for correcting those failures.
Everything was transmitted directly into his mind.
Li Tianyu carefully absorbed the information.
'Good.'
He immediately began gathering the required materials.
He visited several different shops throughout the city and purchased the materials separately, making sure not to attract unnecessary attention.
Once everything had been gathered...
He found a secluded location.
Then he began the refinement.
The Rank Two Burning Lotus Gu floated before him.
Around it were the numerous materials required for its advancement.
Li Tianyu activated several Fire Path refinement killer moves.
Crimson flames filled the room.
The temperature steadily increased.
One material after another was added.
The refinement continued for three days.
Finally...
The flames surged.
A powerful aura emerged.
The Rank Two Burning Lotus Gu transformed completely.
Rank Three β Blazing Lotus Gu!
Li Tianyu looked at the newly refined Gu worm.
A smile appeared on his face.
'With this, my primeval essence recovery will rise another level.'
But he didn't stop.
The moment the refinement was complete, he returned his attention to the Blazing Ember Gu.
'Next.'
He commanded it to deduce the Rank Three advancement recipe for another one of his core Gu worms.
The Blazing Ember Gu once again entered dormancy.
Another ten days.
When it awakened, the new recipe and all associated refinement knowledge were transmitted into Li Tianyu's mind.
Li Tianyu then separately purchased the materials required for the refinement.
After gathering everything...
He spent another three days refining the Gu.
And another core Gu worm successfully advanced to Rank Three.
The process continued.
Ten days of deduction.
Three days of refinement.
Gather the materials.
Refine.
Then begin the next deduction.
