The Reaper's Ledger
by thelongmidnightSynopsis
I should have died in the river the night it took my sister. I didn't, and now I can see Death. He has a name he isn't sure is a name, he has ferried souls for ten thousand years and felt nothing, and he was sent that night for the wrong sister. I am the one soul he cannot take, because my name is missing from the Ledger of the dead, an error that should be impossible. Loving him is the worst idea I have ever had. The Ledger heals itself, letter by letter, and the morning my name is found, he is bound to collect me, want it or not. He keeps telling me to send him away. I keep teaching him what a mug of tea is for. Somewhere in the grey between worlds, my sister is hiding, and the keeper of the Ledger is coming to put the books right, and the books say I was always meant to be dead.
