Prolouge: Elena

This world is governed by many nations and kingdoms but there are ten of them known as the TEN PRIME nations. They all live separated from echother with there own people and rules but there was a time that these ten nations were one. Long ago in a age forgotten they were once known as one great nation the name of that nation was ELENA a place where all races and beast coexisted in harmony, loving and caring for one another as one big family. Elena was not ruled by mortals no it was ruled and protected by divine beings known as Theions, there were 3 such beings that were known by the poeple of Elena as there guardians and rulers. The youngest of the Theions that ruled over them was Ji-woo she was warm and welcoming to all, seeing the poeple of Elena more as her own children than as her subjects and she harbored wisdom that was far beyond what a mere mortal mind could ever comprehend. She shared her love and wisdom with anyone that was willing to accept her. And that they did. Her brother Jevo was different on the other hand, he was cold and detached from this world he was the only one of the Theions that was truly seen as a ruler by the people and he made it stay like that. Other than that not much more was known of him. And lastly the eldest among them and the one who gifted the people of Elena power beyond there wildest dreams Donatienne. Donatienne was the one who bestowed power to the powerless, she taught the people how to harness power from beyond this world and how to properly use it she gave them what they called magic. The kingdom of Elena was truly a prosperess land but one day something happened that caused distrust to grow between the races until... war broke out. The races fought and murdered echother when Ji-woo came to find out about this she was enraged she stopped the war immedietly. Then she along with Jevo and Donatienne seperated them then she gave ech of the now seperated people a item of great power and said :"you have broken the peace you all once had. We will no longer protect you mortals, you who have bloodied your own home, and slain your own brothers but we will not let you die out there that is why ten objects have been given to ten people of our choosing. Now we will leave this world and never return." After they had spoken, they vanished from this world never to be seen again. After that the races ech went there seperate ways creating there own nations living away from one another. Now let us meet our hero Zhyler a boy born in a simple rural village not of any nation, right now he is on his way to the nearby city to sell produce with his mother as they usualy do to earn some profits "Come on Zhyler dont lag behind or I'll have to leave without you": Said Zhyler's mother as she walked ahead of him with the produce in her hand. "We dont want to be late now. There's a festival in the town which means tourist, which means more people to sell to": she proclaims a smile on her face, Zhyler rushes behind her and says :"Coming mother i thought i heard a voice calling my name, i thought that maybe Lily had followed us again" he rushes to her side breathing heavy though to all the stuff he was carrying. "Don't be silly darling i told your father to look after her so im certain she isn't following us this time around": as she finished speaking they existed the forrest to the beautiful sight of the town in the distance. Children running around and having fun, merchants trading and selling goods, the wonderful smell of good cooked food, but today it was different; it was more festive than usual, and there was a man Zhyler had never seen before, even though he knew everyone by heart at that point, so he asked his mother: "Mother, who is that man in the colorful cloak?" "I have no clue lets ask Tyion": Answered his mother so they headed to Tyion the town head to ask him who the masked man is. They arrived at his door a small welcoming home with worn out wood and soft door mat . They knock on ther door he opens. "Why hello there Marta and Zhyler what brings you to my humble aboad?" He says to them a warm welcoming smile on his face as he opens the door for them to enter. Marta says. :"Thank you for the welcome but we only came by to ask who that strange man in the cloak is before setting up our stand." "What you don't know what he is from looking. I can understand you not knowing but Zhyler aswell, i thought you youngings were into that type stuff. Zhyler dont you know what a mage is?" He says looking at them both a little confused. "Mage? Ive only ever read about them in books i've never seen one before Mister Tyion, so i would'nt know from a glance. But ive always wanted to be one they use a thing called mana that is all around us to cast spells and do all sorts of stuff that should be impossible. WAIT!! IS THAT GUY A MAGE?!" Zhyler screams out a bit excited and confussed thinking about the idea of a mage being in there village. Tyion answers him. :"Indeed Zhyler he is a mage that came to our village along with a few other to preform a show and the best part is... its all for FREE. Its so kind of them to be doing this for our poor town. But enough of that you and your mother should get going before i waste any more of your time" after that Zhyler and Marta wave him a goodbye before heading to there usual spot for setting up there stand. While there setting up, one of the fruit baskets falls, Zhyler goes to pick it up. As Zhyler is picking up the fruit that fell on the ground a person starts helping him he looks up to see who it is and sees a girl beastmen. "You dang cluts your always making a mess no mater where you go. Must be because of those dang eyes how many time have i told you to get glasses, cus you dont have amazing eyes like mine.": She says to him handing over the fruit with a smug look on her face after which she pats him on the shoulder. He blushes slightly before saying: "Can't you go one second without mocking me Ursa?." "Mmm nahh i like annoying you anyways. Hey Ms. Marta how's it going?" She proceeds to greet Marta with a warm smile and a hug before asking: "Can I borrow Zhyler for the day since today there's a festival. Pleasssssseeeeeeee." A warm smile on her face, waiting for Marta to answer. Marta then says: "Fine fine but he has to help me finish setting up before he can leave." Ursa jumps in excitement before helping Zhyler finish setting up, then leaving with him to go and enjoy the day. They first go to a stand and get some delicious food after that Zhyler wins her a price from a game then they watch some animals preform a show. As Zhyler and Ursa are walking she smells something weird so she asks Zhyler about it: "Zhyler do you smell that horrendous smell?" "Smell? I don't smell anything maybe your noise is just acting up": Zhyler says confused as to what she's smelling. Ursa grabs him by the wrist and leads him to where the smell is coming from. They go through an ally to the back of one of the town buildings where a single window stands, as they get closer the smell intesefeis. There hearts starting to pound faster and faster and when Ursa and Zhyler look inside, they see a burned corpse of one of the villagers laying in a chair, chard and burned. All around the body stood a group of men in cloaks. Ursa shocked by such a disgusting sight falls over in fear, almost screaming but covering her mouth before that happens Zhyler on the other hand immediately throws up tears welling up in his eyes, he gets on his kness and crawls to Ursa covering her mouth as she cries out from what she saw. Zhyler did not speak but his face was enough to show what he wanted to say. One of the cloaked men speaks: "Well she's dead. Too bad she walked in on us reading the scriptures of the great one." "I told you not to kill her #105. Our mission was to come here and find SHÉN XUĂN. If someone were to find out what we did, we would have to wipe out the entire village like we did the last one and im not doing all that work again." One of the other cloaked figures says angrily at #105. After hearing what the people said Ursa and Zhyler left to go warn Tyion, as they run throughout the town they can't find anyone, before finally reaching Tyion's house. "MR. TYION OPEN UP THERE'S SOMETHING WE HAVE TO TELL YOU!!!" Ursa screams out banging on the door as tears flow down her face the knocks getting softer and softer before she falls on her knees crying. "What do we do Zhyler? He's not home and we have no idea where everybody went." She says fear clouding her mind, the sight of the corpse feels engraved in her head. Then she feels Zhyler's hands gently start to caress her face wiping the tears away, before he says: "What are you crying for? The Ursa I know would never cry this easily no matter how bad the situation was. All we need to do is find out where everyone is and warn them before someone else gets hurt." He encourages her holding back tears of his own. Following what just happened they look around going from door to door before finally finding everyone at townhall gathered in front of a stage. There stands Marta selling her produce as the sun starts to set, Ursa and Zhyler immediately rush to her giving her a big hug relievedto see that she's ok. Shocked from the sudden show of affection but also pleased she remarks playfully. "Whoa kids what's all this love all of a sudden did you miss me that much from just one day apart?" "Never mind that mom where's Mr. Tyion we have something very import-." Before Zhyler can finish his sentence a cheer erupts from the crowd as one of the mages steps on stage. The people applaud and cheer him on as he smiles back waving at them before he signals them to quite down before he starts to speak: "Hello there everyone. Wonderful night isn't it. It feels so good to be here tonight before you all to preform but before we start I'd like to welcome your spectacular, amazing, and awesome Town leader to the stage #105 bring him on." His smile goes from friendly to sinister in an instant the moment #105 brings a beaten and bloodied Mr Tyion onto stage. At such a sight before them the crowd all gasp in shock at the sight some even throwing up. After seeing there reaction he starts to speak once more: "You might be wondering why we beat your leader, well that's because he won't tell us what we want to know. So know we'll be putting on a show so that he'll feel better about talking." After saying that 2 other mages come up and start preparing for... something. A random in the crowd than asks: "So what's this show you planned for him?" "Obviously your deaths." #105 says before shooting a fireball at him lighting him on fire as a smile forms on his face hearing the scream of the man get louder and louder, before every person there starts to panic and run away. "DANG IT #105!! You couldn't wait a few more minutes for the barrier to come up!! Do you know how annoying chasing them is" says the main mage before taking out his staff and chasing the people down and killing them with lightning magic. #105 holding a burning corpse in his hand says: "It's much more fun this way." "Its not about fun we needed them to bribe that stupid old man but it doesn't matter now let's just get Theotokos and kill the rest of them since it doesn't seem like SHÉN XUĂN is here." The main mage says continuing the slaughter. Meanwhile this is happening Zhyler, Ursa, and Marta are running away as #105 sets fire to the village. Marta then says: "kids follow me i know a secret spot to hide from the bad men." She leads them avoiding all the falling debris and mages running around looking for people to slaughter, finally arriving at a the library taking them inside to where a broken statue stands. She proceeds to use a key to open a small compartment on the statue urging them to go inside. "Wait. Mom there's no space for you. You are you gonna hide with us right?" Zhyler says quickly turning around to look at his mother with a worried expression. She then hugs him tears forming at the edge of her eyes as she utters out: "i won't be hiding with you honey but I promise I'll find somewhere to hide and afterward I'll come back to you. But promise me that you won't come out for 3 days ok? Promise me." "But mom what if you don't find anywhere in time. What if you get hurt. What i-": as he goes on and on she stops him before he can continue and looks him in his eyes the tears coming out knowing this is probably the last time she'll be seeing him she ask him once more: "promise me?" "I-i promise": He says before bursting into tears. "Ursa I leave him in your care. And Zhyler... i love you.": After speaking those last words to her son she leaves the library, Ursa and Zhyler hide in the compartment. They sit there through the screams of pain, terror, and suffering the entire night before it finally stopped and what came after was a deafening silence. Ursa reaches to open the door before Zhyler stops her he whispers out: "Remember the promise. 2 more days" they both fall asleep though to boredom. They wakeup at the sound of people talking outside there voices are unclear but there able to make out one word... FORTIS the Capital of one of the Great ten Nations the human nation to be more specific. Not long after the people left. Night fall came and past, now one more day before the children can finally exit the compartment. Nothing much happened as the day passed then nightfall came and before long came morning. Ursa slowly opens up the compartment to see of its safe to go out only to find that there's nothing left, everything has been burned to the ground even the library they were in has beem reduced to nothing but ash, however for some strange reason the compartment and the statue are still left standing but now there's a strange symbol on the side of the compartment. The children don't think much of it and start to walk around the destroyed village looking to see if there's anyone left alive. "MOM! MOMMMMM! MOM ARE YOU THERE!" Both Ursa and Zhyler scream out as they run around ever so desperately trying to find there mothers but everywhere they look all they find is bodies of innocents burned, slashed, and crushed to death. Ursa finds her mother but what she sees breaks her completely, her mother missing the lower half of her body, her guts sticking out as she lays there in a pool of her own blood. "Mom...? No no no. MOMMMM!!! PLEASE GET UP MOM!! THERE'S NO WAY YOU'D DIE THIS EASILY! PLEASE MOM YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME ALONE YOUR THE ONLY FAMILY I HAVE!" She cries holding her mom's lifeless body in her hands squeezing with all her might trying to wake her up knowing she won't ever be waking up again. Zhyler stands quietly tears start to fall down his face as he looks down at his mother's burned body, the only way he's even able to recognize her is because of her blue eyes. he doesn't say anything he simply grabs her body and carries it to a hill outside the city Ursa follows suit. They dig graves for both there deceased parents in complete silence after they bury them each places somethin that best represents who they were as a person for Zhyler's mother a simple red rose and for Ursa nothing more than a Protea. They stood there in silence honoring there mothers. "We should head to my village." They start to head towards Zhyler's village tracking through the forest barefoot, picking a few berries along the way. A few hours later they finally arrive at the village but what they see shocks them there's no one there, not a single soul Zhyler seeing this rushes to his home right outside the village gates opening up the door to find... no one. Not his little sister, not his father, no one. All that's inside is one single book, when he opens it he finds a letter. "Zhyler if your reading this it means I'm no longer with you. That does not matter though all I ask is that you find Gina she will teach you and Ursa all you need to know. She lives somewhere in the forbidden woods. When you find her tell her i sent you, she'll know what to do. Love Mom ❤️." When he finishes reading the letter he breaks down crying Ursa comforting him in this moment. A few minutes pass. "Maybe this Gina person can help us find out what happened to the village and who those mages were? Who knows she may be able to help us find and kill them for what they did." "Zhyler i don't think that's what your mother wantedus to find her for. We have to go anyway it's not like we have anyone else to take care of us, there's one problem though, this person lives in the middle of the the forbidden forest. Do you hear that, FORBIDDEN forest empathize on forbidden." "It doesn't matter we'll find a way." As Zhyler is leaving his house he feels a sharp pain in his side looking down to see a knife there. He falls to the ground screaming in pain. "Wowww can't believe you kids survived the purge. I told then that there were still survivors too bad they all left me and called me crazy." A mystery man says slowly walking closer with a blade in his hand. Zhyler slowly starts going unconscious looking up seeing Ursa about to face the man before he goes unconscious. "URSA!" He screams waking up in his bedroom. "Was it all... a dream?" "No Zhyler it was sadly all real. I put some bandages on your wound." "Ursa? Is that you? Why are you standing in the dark come on out." "I don't want you to see me like this. They we're right Zhyler im just a filthy beast." "What are you talking about Ursa? Are you talking about what happened before? You know I don't see you as a beast your just Ursa. Now come on out." "... promise you won't be scared?" "Promise." She steps out of shadows her hands and mouth covered in blood she looks down afraid to make eye contact with him. "I... i ki-killed him Zhyler. Then I flopping at him. I was so mad that he was going to take someone else i love away from me. What is wrong with me." "It's ok Ursa you were simply in a frenzy. It's ok the important thing is that you didn't get hurt or attack an innocent person." "That's the thing, after I was done with him i almost ate youm I'm a beast." "It's ok how many times do I have to tell you" He gets up and starts walking towards her. She backs away from him slowly. "You were simply going berserk i know you can't control yourself when you're like that." He gets even closer to her she keeps backing up until she hits the wall. "So don't blame yourself. I won't leave you, you're family to me aswell remember that." He hugs her tightly she gasps in shock trying to push him off before she starts to ball her eyes out in his arms letting her emotions flow. "Its ok we'll get through this together no matter what." And so there journey has begun.
