Valeria has always been tired. Not the kind of tired that disappears after a good night's sleep. She can sleep for twelve hours, fourteen, sometimes longer—and still wake up exhausted. Doctors found nothing. Magical examinations found even less. Whatever gift Valeria was born with, everyone eventually reached the same conclusion: it probably wasn't much of one. And then there are the dreams. Vivid, impossibly detailed dreams of places she's never visited and people she's never met. Sometimes frightening. Sometimes painfully ordinary. Always real enough to linger long after she wakes. Valeria has spent years ignoring them. Until something from one of her dreams appears in the waking world. For the first time, Valeria has to consider an uncomfortable possibility: Maybe she hasn't been dreaming at all.
