Synopsis

Norrin Shai thought escorting a caravan carrying a sealed delivery across the continent would be easy money. Until he found himself trapped inside an enchanted prison with the cursed spirit of the Azuri warrior-goddess, Nassima. Nassima offers him a pact: She will share her incredible powers and use of her divine weapon, Light's Reach, to help him escape the prison. In return, Norrin must bond her spirit to his and help her find the key that can end her curse. Norrin has no reason to trust the goddess, because the Azuri gods have never done anything for him in his life. But in this situation, he must have faith that Nassima will hold true to her word. With the bond complete, Norrin and Nassima set off on their quest. But from the moment Norrin begins wielding her powers, the world realizes Nassima is free. The Azuri gods who betrayed her move to place her back under their control, while two rival empires pursue her weapon's power for themselves. Armed with Nassima's magic, Norrin will face enemies no mortal would dare challenge. But every use of that power pushes his mind and body to the limit.
