Around 5.00pm on a Wednesday 13th March 2018
Kenneth Williams was a hard working man and had provided for his family since he started working. He had been an honest and decent man, who had worked as a prison officer for over 30 years without a mark on his record. Known to be fair and kind to the prisoners, without compromising his values and beliefs. However, two years before, Kenneth daughter Willow had been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and nowhere in the UK could do the treatment. So Kenneth had to take Willow to the USA for the treatment. Which cost over £200,000 just for the treatment alone. Kenneth took out a loan with a person who said all he had to do was help him when he asked for it.
Today was that day, Kenneth walked to Leila's cell and opened it. He passed her prison uniform and a badge with the name Beverly Hope and a picture that looked similar to Leila and told her to keep quiet and act normal.
"Why are you helping me
"I have no choice, just get changed and move it, keep your mouth shut, just walk. Show your badge at the gates and there is a car waiting for you outside the gates
"Thank you, I am not as bad as you may think I am, I am a good person, you don't have to do this
"Yes I do, I have a debt to pay, you are that debt. Your father helped my daughter, I am helping his
After, Leila had dressed, she wore a black cap, which matched the prison officers uniform, she looked in the mirror and didn't see herself anymore, just Beverley Hope. Both Leila and Kenneth walked though eight different locked gates till they got to the main doors to leave the prison. As, they both stepped outside, the fresh air hit both of them. It was cold and windy.
"Get in the car now and go, I don't ever want to see your face in front of me again," explained Kenneth
"Thank you," Leila said as she got into the car waiting for her.
When the car set off Leila asked where she was going and where was her father at. She wanted to speak to him straight away.
"He is waiting for you, don't worry, he wasn't going to leave you again Leila, Welcome to the family," Soule said with a smile
As the car drove out of the town and onto the motorway, Leila was thinking on what this was going to do to Mike, when he found out that she had escaped from prison. How, he will feel when he understands that he won't be seeing their child ever.
After about two hours, The car suddenly pulled to the left off road, that Leila had to grab the car door handle as she was thrown to the left against the door, hitting her head.
"For fuck sake, be careful
" Sorry Sis, it is a Sharpe turn and we cant be slowing down, we don't want to get caught now do we
"Sis, are you my brother," Asked Leila
"I am, we have the same fucked up dad, sounds like we also both have fucked up mothers as well, "Soule replied.
"Ha, okey
The car went quiet for about one minute as Leila was re programming her brain to accept this new information about her dad's side of family, that she now had a brother. "Where are we going?
"To see dad, then we ca get sorted and move on to where we will remain
"Don't you think we are a bit to close to home," asked Leila
"Leila dad has been here for nearly 20 years,," Revealed Soule
"Why, am I am not surprised. So close but so far away
Getting to the end of the dirt road, the car came to a stop
"It's a dead end
"No it isn't
Soule pushed a button on his dashboard and the wall started to come down to reveal another road, long long road.
When the wall pulled down completely, Soule pressed on the escalator and the car moved forward
"What is this
"This tunnel was made in the early 1800's by the Chessmen to help them move without anyone knowing or hearing them. It goes for 100s of miles, the rumour is that you can drive all the way to France, Paris , Spain, even further. But I wouldn't know. This is only the second time I have used it. First time dad took us to the other side of the country.
"Are you sure 1800's? These wall are massive, the equipment they would need to do this, I'm sure the equipment that is needed to do this didn't exist.
"The chessmen are very rich people, who are able to make things happen. you will see. You are not part of the chessmen. Your turn will come soon enough
"What does that mean?
"The chessmen were created by our great great grandfather and great grandfather, grandfather in the 1500's a game of chess that is still active today. A game you will be playing very soon.
"What do you mean ?," asked Leila
"The game consists of all members, from all different backgrounds and professions to take part in the game of chess .
"Chess
"Early 1500s our great great grandad started a different game of chess, that consisted of 1000s of people all over the world, all different cultures, all different professions, riches, poor would play this game
"How different, " Leila asked knowing the answer before it was said out loud
"Murder Leila, random people, three potential targets , one real death, only choose by a chess move," explained Soule
"Oh!!!! how are the targets chosen?
"By random on that day
The car came to a slow stop then turned left into another tunnel that had a lift that soule drove onto, put the handbrake on, till the lift went up two levels. When the lift did come to a stop, the doors in front of us opened and Soule drove out onto a platform then he instructed Leila to get out and wait to the left of the car. Leila got out stood to the left, Soule did the same. Waiting till a middle aged woman came out , glasses, grey over the top of the head but still looked young. The woman got in the car and drove off down the levels . Following Soule, we walked into a tunnel, down steps into a shelter. As the door opened up, Johnson was smiling " Hey Baby Girl,
"Hello to you too Dad," Soule said
"Oh shut the fuck up,
"Leila come and sit down , eat , drink. You need to keep yourself healthy
"Thanks, I think
The place was an old bunker that hadn't even been registered, the place was built in secret a long time ago by some very rich people who had more people than most. Who can make people suddenly disappear . They didn't want this or the tunnel to be known about and the Johnson family are apart of that.
" Dad, when does Leila go on her first mission," Asked Soule
"Not yet, she needs to rest. Maybe Late this week
"But, you made me go out straight away, why is she any fucking different," Soule asked annoyed
"Watch your tongue boy ," Johnson Warned
"Dad, just tell me what it is I have to do, I will do it straight after I have eaten and rest for the baby sake. This doesn't mean we are okey
Looking pissed off " No! You will wait till I say that you are ready ," demanded Johnson
Johnson knew that if let Leila go out this early there is a high chance she would be caught. That could get The chessmen caught , which can not happen, to many people and faces involved, far to dangerous. That lesson was learnt once before, when his great granddad, trusted Marcus Fox bringing into the fold, sending him out the next day. Marcus wasn't ready and when he did get to the target. He didn't expect the target to fight back. The target was a trained kick boxer and kicked his arse so bad he was in surgery within the hour due to his broken bones. When police came and searched his belongings, they found a phone that only had one number in the contacts list, that was " Frank". When the number was called and Frank answered, with the words " is the target terminated.
The police officer replied " No, but you mate is in surgery after the target kicked his arse. See you soon Frank," The officer said. The call had been traced, giving the officers "Franks" location. When the police turned up, the place had already been abandoned. They had managed to escape minutes before the police showed up, leaving a lot of stuff behind.
The chessmen then located to this place, where we can not be located due to how thick the walls are. Anyone brought into the fold, had to go though background check. Couldn't go out on any missions for at least the first week or maybe two. Had to have many different contacts in their contact list. Had to have special training , to be able to forfil their contracts.
