The Second Kill

I was walking back to my car when I saw her. She was walking so fast but couldn’t walk in a straight line because she was that pissed and guess what she had a little girl with her, couldn’t be much older than 4, maybe 5.
“Why do mothers do shit like this? Really annoys me.
I watched her get into a taxi on the corner of Penny Street, I decided to follow her to see where she gets out at. Taxi was making its way down the one-way system in Lancaster going past Lancaster bus station then past Sainsburys and turning left on to the bridge heading for Morecambe.
After about 15 minutes of following her the taxi pulled up outside a house on Townley Street, Morecambe. I waited till she went in or more like fell in. She went into number 4 Townley street Morecambe.
Ok so I will do a check on her and follow her for a while but first I must get myself up to scratch on Young Brandon’s MO so as to make sure that nothing comes back on me.
Crap I better get back down to the station; Mike will be wondering where the hell I went to. Shit, I better make some fucking good excuse up and fast, and I must help Chole with her homework tonight.
I really can not be arsed making a volcano tonight.
As I got back to the station Mike was waiting for me and he was pissed, if you looked close enough you can see the steam coming from his head .
“Where the fuck have you been?” Mike shouted
“I was following up on something “I said very fast,
“I’m sorry, please don’t be mad. I know I should have told you, but I got lost in this clue,” I said, begging for forgiveness.
Mike looked at me with such fury in his eyes, I didn’t think I was going to pull this one off.
“Fine what’s the clue” Mike asked quite calmly, which surprised me a bit
“I found her phone and there is a message from a Mr Rubert”
“Look”I said
I showed Mike the text and explained that I had gone to research the company at local library, luckily I was in there just before I saw number 2.
“So did you find anything that can help us?” Mike asked
“Yeah it is a company that deals with missing persons and adoptions” I replied.
“Anyway, I have left Mr. Rubert a message to call us back as soon as he gets my message,” feeling hopeful.
“So what we thinking that someone she was looking for didn’t like being found and decided to bump her off, it’s a bit far fetched don’t you think, especially with the brutality of the murder. I mean this person must have spent at least 4 to 5 hours with the victim.
It does happen, I mean nt everyone wants to be found when they leave.
Well we still need to go down that line of enquires, just incase” Mike said
Jesus all I want is for this conversation to end so I can focus on number 2 and how to implicate young Brandon.
“Okay, well we will see when Mr. Rubert calls, won’t we?” I snapped at Mike
Mike looked at me with shock, as if I had just slapped him in the face.
“What, don’t look at me like that, it’s what we should be doing. Even if it doesn’t come up with anything at least we have gone down every avenue right ! !I asked him
“Yeah, you are right, love, but for now we are going home and will start with fresh eyes tomorrow, okay,” Mike said, looking tired.
Walking to the car, it was about 7pm and it was dark outside, but the stars were clear for the whole world to see. I always loved looking at the stars, especially at night. The air was fresh as well, the air that when you breathe in it cleans your lungs.
Mike decided he was going to drive , which didn’t bother me I had other things to think about anyway. How was I going to commit this murder and still leave my mark but frame Young Brandon ?
20 minutes later we arrived at home. Chole was waiting for me when we got in, ready for us to do her homework. I told Mike to get a takeaway as I couldn’t be bothered cooking and I was going to help Chole with her homework.
“I don’t mind helping with their homework, but to be fair, I have no idea how to do the bloody stuff,” I huffed at myself.
“It’s English, something to do with King Edward,” Chole said a bit unsure who he was, which surprised me.
“Okay, let’s have a look and see what they are wanting,” I said, taking the piece of paper off her and having a look.

My mobile rang and I looked who it was , it said “Dave”

“Is everything ok for your visit “ I asked
“Well that’s the thing I have had to come up a little bit early for a business meeting, but I can’t seem to book a hotel at the moment,” Dave said sounding a little bit uneasy.
“How early?” I asked
“Now “Dave said
“Bloody hell, Dave, it’s a bit short notice, but yes, of course you can stay with us,” I said, feeling a little bit excited but nervous.
“Brilliant thank you sis I will be there in 10 minutes” Dave said hanging up
