Chapter 11
Chapter 11
17 min read
Our case and this case are totally different, there is no way that these are connected.
I want everything collected here and want it to be prioritised, so that means nothing else gets processed before this evidence. Do I make myself clear everybody, I also want all the unknown killer cases to be re-looked at. As, something doesn’t add up.,” Shouted so everyone could hear him.
“Jesus,” Superintendent Goodman said from behind Mike
“ Boss,” I said
“ I haven’t seen anything this bad in a long time, am going back 10 years when I was a detective still,” Goodman replied.
“Do you mean the Hudson case Sir,” Sally asked.
“ Yes, it was 23rd December 2010 two days before Christmas and the Hudson family had just gone for a meal at The station pub and were making their way back on the prom to go home, when a homeless man tried to speak to Mr. Hudson’s oldest daughter Kelsey, she was 15 years old.
Mr. Hudson shut him down straight away and they carried on walking. But what they didn’t know was that Peter Cluse was following them, and he waited and watch across the street, for five hours. He watched everyone go to sleep. Then he went round the house, checking the windows and doors.
Unfortunately, the kitchen window was unlocked, and Peter Cluse climbed through the window killing the other members of the family with a tree branch that had fallen off their own tree, the day before. Then he proceeded to rape the 15-year-old Kelsey Hudson for six hours on and off. When he was done with her, he strangled her to death.
Things have taken a very scary turn as Mike has now decided that he wants to re-exam every piece of evidence that we have managed to get and look at all the crime scene photos, and he wants to re-look at the evidence of the biggest case of his and Terry's lives.
As he believes there is another connection to these crimes and that the REASON is the answer to who is responsible for these murders.
“ I remember that case Sir, but I have also been getting some strong da ja ju from this case.” Sally replied.
“ What do you mean,” Goodman asked
“ Well, I feel like I’ve dealt with this case before, but I can't seem to remember which one,” Sally replied looking scared.
“Yeah, me too, something is off but also familiar with these killings, like we have seen them before.
PC Walsh, please go back to the station and check my cases for the last 20 years, seeing if there is anything like these murders here,” Mike ordered.
“Yes, Sir,” replied PC Walsh
My phone starts ringing
“Hey Sis, sorry to bother you, just a quick one, do you mind if we take the girls out for tea tonight, please
“Actually, that would help a lot as we have just had a massive case come up,” I replied.
“Great, I’ve got my key, I will pick them up from school as well then, if that is okey,” Dave said
“That is perfect Dave, listen we probably won’t be home till gone midnight tonight, are you okey with the girls,” I asked
“Yes, of course,” Dave responded.
“Okay, see you tonight, love you,” I said as I ended the call.
“We might as well leave the CSIs to it and get back to the station, so we can compare all of the victim’s that way. Well it is 2pm not lets meet at 3.30pm in the conference room A.
Everyone happy with that? , “ Mike asked.
“Yeah, fine with me,” Superintendent Goodman replied.
As we made our way down the stairs and out of the house, with the Evidence in tow, we placed the Evidence bags into the boot of our car and made our way back down the prom towards Gala Bingo. All I could think about was “What happens if I do get caught? What if I make a mistake? What would happen to Mike and the girls?” All of sudden the thought of “Who is my dad?.
“Okay, where the fuck did that come from,” I said to myself.
“You okey,” Mike asked
“Yeah, to be honest, I was thinking about who my dad was?” I replied
“Wow, okay, you’ve never mentioned your dad before,” Mike responded.
“Yeah, well when you were talking about your Dad, It made me think about mine and how I have never met him, in fact, I don’t even know his name as my mother would never tell me,” I said surprising myself, as I never speak about my Dad.
Mike was thinking for a moment before he said,” Well we could ask Sally to perform a DNA test and see if she can get any hits. You never know?,” Mike replied.
Mike idea, sat like a heavy cloud over my head, what if my father didn’t know I existed and wasn’t interested in me. Would I be able to handle the rejection, I mean look at myself at what I have done when I found out I couldn’t have a baby without the intervention of medical help. Or maybe this is the right time to meet him. All of these thoughts rushing around my head was making me FUCKING ANGRY… STOPPPPPPPPPPPP
“Babe are you okey,” I heard Mike ask
The voice went as fast as they came, nothing but silence
“Babe,” Mike said again
“Yeah, sorry I went a dizzy, I must be hungry, that’s all,” I replied.
“Okey we’re going to get something to eat, heading towards the nearest chippy, my favourite, I hope.
After having something to eat, I felt much better, and we made our way back to the station so we could get ready for the meeting.
“ I would like to do the DNA test, I will ask Sally when all of this is over,” I said to Mike
“That is great idea babe,” he replied
Driving over Broadway bridge we passed the church on the left where my Nana married my grandad, that was many years ago, for the life of me I can not remember the year. On the right as we came to the end of Broadway to turn right onto the prom going towards Morecambe, was where we have flats now, but once there was a hotel called The Broadway Hotel, where annually they had a UFO meeting as Morecambe was known as the UFO hot spot to be. As we made our way past Gala Bingo, we turned left towards Poulton road, pulling into Morecambe Police Station 4 minutes later.
As we all sat down at the conference table, I had a glass of water with me, as I didn’t feel to well after that little episode in the car. Something was wrong with me, Jesus fucking Christ, lets just get this meeting out of the way.
“Okey what do we need to do then Mike,” I asked
“I want us to go through all the victims' backgrounds and their everyday activities to see if there is a link anywhere or are known to each other at all. I also want to go through the Unknown killer cases again and see if anything matches up, Mike explained
“Are we talking about the two victims’ from The Mummy Killer case or the case we found today as well?” PC Walsh asked
“All of them, Walsh. We need to be sure that these cases are linked, as if they aren’t, that means that we have two very dangerous killers on the loose,” Mike said, looking scared.
Did any notice that the two women killed on The Mummy Killer case both had a young child,” said PC Walsh
“What do you mean?
“I’m not sure as of yet, sir. It just seems far too personal to be random. The killer spent a lot of time with both victims, all on nights that the young child wouldn’t be present, not only that detective but the killer also cleaned the crime scene up, as if they knew what to do. That is telling me that the killer is someone with experience in the crime scene industry. As not a lot of people would know how to get rid of evidence and blood. Our killer knows what to do to hide themselves from us. I have a feeling this isn’t the end of the dead bodies that will be showing up” PC Walsh said
“Well once we get both autopsy exams back on both victims, we need to keep an open mind as, right now the only suspect we have is Brandon Price, I do agree with you with everything you have said” Mike said
“This doesn’t look like the work of a dumb young adult who can barely string a full comprehensive conversation together,” said Terry
Great, so my plan has gone to shit, what now? Am sure I will come up with another plan, but now am just going to let this little bitch have her moment in the spot light.
After all the evidence had been collected and delivered to the forensic laboratory and handed over to Sally, we signed our documents and left to go back to the conference room, where everyone was going through the evidence that we had on the TV monitor’s.
“ Sir, looking over the evidence It does seem to be someone holding a grudge against these women, maybe looking the background of their friends will help bring some light on these murders, as it really does seem to be personal,” PC Walsh chipped in again
SHE MUST DIE!!!!! The voice in my head shouted
“Good Idea Walsh,” Mike replied
“Excuse me for a moment my husband is calling,” PC Walsh said and walked out of the room.
“ Just going to bathroom, but back in a moment,” I said to Mike
As I walked out of the door and turn left to go towards the female toilets, I could see Walsh stood to the right of the toilet door , I went in the toilet door and stood by it and I could hear her conversation with her husband.
“You better have cleaned the fucking house by the time a get home and the fucking kids better be in bed as well. After the day I have, I aren’t dealing with the kids annoying me all fucking night,
I couldn’t hear what husband was saying
“I don’t care if they want to spend time with me, you’re the bitch, you deal with it,” she shouted down the phone and hung up.
KILL HER,” the voice in my head said
Fine, I will, guess PC Walsh will be my next victim.
Coming out of the bathroom, my phone rang
“Lawson
“It’s Sally, can you come down to the Lab please
“Sure, on my way
As I passed the conference room, I popped my head in and asked Mike and Terry to come with me.
“What is going on,” Terry asked
“Sally just called and asked me to come to her Lab, so I came and got you guy’s so we can find out together what she ha for us,” I responded.
Getting into the lift I pushed the button to go to the ground floor where Sally’s Lab was.
“I hope she has a DNA match for us, or at least a link somewhere, “ Mike said
The lift opened after one minute, as we make our way to the Lab, Sally said” You aren’t going to believe what I found
“ What is it
“ Well I checked the Victim’s DNA from the crime scene today and I got a match quite quickly,” Sally replied
“ Well what match was it,” Asked Terry
“ You’re not going to like this Mike,” Sally said looking concerned
“ Just tell me,” Said to Sally
“Mike, the DNA came back to a 20 year old case that is still unsolved today,” Sally said
“ What case is it ,” I asked
“ Please not the unknown killer case,” Mike asked with fear in his eyes
“ Yes, am sorry Mike,” Sally said but it isn’t the same person she continued
“ Explain,” Mike demanded
“ Each victim from today’s crime scene matches one of the victims of the victims from 20 years ago,” Sally said
“What? Are you telling me someone has gone out and hunted down relatives of the original victims and murdered them?” Mike demanded
“Not just murdered then, Mike, they were killed in the exact same way,” Sally said showing Mike the first murder scene and then today’s murder scene and they we’re identical.
Both myself and Terry lent forward to be able to see the pictures of both crime scenes, when we saw them, we both couldn’t believe how similar they were.
“That’s messed up,” Terr said
“Tell me about it,” I replied
Just then Superintendent Goodman came into Lab and looked at the pictures, then said “ Fucking hell! We don’t need this right now
“ No disrespect Sir but we don’t need it at anytime
Goodman looked at me for a moment shocked, then he said “ Of course, I didn’t mean it like that
“My apologies, Sir,” I said
“What are we doing to catch this bastard? I mean, we didn’t even manage to catch the first one, did we? No disrespect to you, Mike. I know you tried your best.
“None taken, Sir
“ That isn’t all I got Mike,” Sally said,
We all turned our heads in union, and said “ What
“I got another DNA sample from the crime scene. Do you remember me saying it is a different killer?
“ Yeah I do,” Mike replied
“ Well the DNA has a 48% link to the DNA from the crime scene 20 years ago,” Sally revealed
“So you mean his son, or brother, or grandson?on could be doing this,” Terry asked
“ Yes, so I have called in Professor Chloe Earls to help me build a DNA file and a profile on the Killer, She should be here in the next couple of hours,” Sally said
“ At least something is being done, I mean we now have two serial Killers on the loose and we have no idea ,who they are , where they are and why they are doing this,” Goodman said sounding panicked
“ Hopefully we will have something soon for you Sir,” Sally stuttered back
It was gone 8pm by now and we were all tired and wanted to go home, so Mike told everyone to leave and report back tomorrow morning at 07.00 hours.
Every grumbled “ Yes Sir as they made their way out of the conference room and to their lockers to grab their stuff before going home.
“ You ready to go home,” Mike asked.
“ Not yet, am going to speak to Sally about my Dad and see what she thinks she can do, is that all right,” I asked
“ Yeah of course, I will head home as am shattered and want to get to bed and will see you at home,” Mike replied.
Mike kissed me and left for the day, I went straight to my laptop and opened the google to search Walsh and what type of person she is. I needed to know what I was getting myself into before I committee to ending her life, as I don’t want to get myself caught if I cant help it. As I typed Joanna Walsh into facebook, Walsh’s face popped up with a profile picture of her and her husband , as I clicked on her pictures, there were pictures of the children, all looking fake. As I heard the way she spoke about they to her husband. Nasty bitch she is!!!! Just as I was looking, heard a voice behind me “ Why are you looking at my Facebook,” PC Walsh asked.
“ Oh hi, yours came up on my people you might know,” I replied.
“ Oh, Okey,” Walsh said not sounding sure
“ You have a lovely family, I have two daughters, Shannon and Chloe, the terrible teenage years, where I get huffed at for breathing laughing out loud
“ Yeah, I have a 3 year old and a new born ( Six months old) Walsh replied.
“Well time to go home, I was just checking emails and having a nosy. See you tomorrow,” I maybe pushed to hard to sound convincing. Getting into my work car, I left the Station turning towards Thornton Road.
Driving home through the streets of Morecambe down Thornton Road, I started to think back to when, years ago this road was the place to live, but over the years the painting on the buildings have chipped and faded due to being neglected.
Anyway, coming off Thornton Road to go onto Marine road east, towards bare. The tide was in and the sky was clear. Morecambe Promenade is a beautiful place to go for a walk.
Phone rings
“Detective Lawson
“Hey you nearly home, “Dave asked
“Yes, about 10 minutes away
“Good, as Frank has cooked tea for us all, Dave said
“oh ok, yeah I won’t be long. Have the girls behaved their selfs when you picked them up from school? ,” I asked
“Yeah, they have been fine, we were going to go to the cinema and few a meal, but Frank called and said he wanted to come over and cook for all of us. So we have just spent out time playing Monopoly and it has been a very good game, all earth quakes have happened while you’re not here, Dave said laughing down the phone.
“Am surprised Chloe hasn’t slapped anyone yet, as she hates to lose at that game, she is as bad as me, when I lose,” I said laughing
No, she has been fine up to now, but that could be because she is winning and we are losing,” Dave replied back
“I need to go as I driving, I will be home soon, love you
“Love you too, Dave said then ending the call
I dread to think what Frank has cooked, as he never… just then I saw her! With three little children. Two girls and one boy. She was walking the opposite to the way I was going. As I watched her, I couldn’t help but turn around and follow her.
For nearly 40 minutes I followed her till she came to a gated property in the west end of Morecambe. She went up west end road towards Osborne Road. Number 22 Osborne Road.
Watching her made me mad, no in fact it pissed me off. WHY DOES SHE GET THREE KIDS AND I GET NONE!
Phone rings
“Detective Lawson
“Hey its me, where are you
“On my way home babe
“Okey, will see you soon
Driving home, knowing that I have the urge again, was hard to control. I enjoy making these bad women pay for being bad parents. But then again, I didn’t see anything bad in this one. Oh, who cares, am doing it anyway.
I will deal with her tomorrow
Ten minutes later I pulled into our drive and parked. Chole came out to greet me with a big hug and explained that she had had a good day at school. Even though she missed putting her face on ( her words).
“Am glad you had a lovely day
“I did and the boy that I like said that I am prettier without makeup on
Chloe had just discovered boys about 6 months ago and it was ramping up like nobodies business. Her hormones where jumping all over the place and this is when she started to feel insecure about her body. Which she doesn’t need to as she is an amazing young lady just like her sister Shannon.
“Uncle Frank has made a roast tea for us all and It is really nice
“Good I love a good roast meal
“We played Monopoly as well and Uncle frank cheats like you do
“I do not cheat, am just good at the game
“Yeah right, you cheat and you know you do” came Shannon’s voice laughing
“Oh be quiet and get inside,” I said laughing
“Come on lets see what Uncle Frank has done to my kitchen
Frank never was good at cleaning up after himself
Walking into the kitchen, I braced myself for what I was about to see but to my surprise the cleaning had been done.
“He babe,
“Hey, giving mike a kiss
“Are we still going to the carnival tomorrow night
The carnival is something that happens every year in Morecambe, it has been happening since the 70’s, where people that take, part are asked to decorate their car/van/HGV. The Morecambe’s very own marching band always set them off and the first carnival car will be with the previous year’s carnival queen and so on.
The whole town comes out to watch and the mayor will be there also.
“Yes we are going, we will set off about 5pm tomorrow so make sure you are ready to go.
“Yes I cant wait, as my friends are going as well, so we are going to be meeting up there.
“That is fine if you come back to us before we set off home
“Will do
“Can I go and meet my friends on my own please, “ Shannon asked
“Sure, but I want you back by 10pm
“I promise I will be home by then.
After sitting and eating the meal Frank made for us ( which was really nice), I logged onto the police data base using another username and password, to be able to check victim number 3 ad who she is. Typing in the address, the data base showed that a Lucy and Peter Mackin lived at 22 Osbourne road with their three children. Loos like Lucy has some convictions from driving over the limit back in Jan 2007 and received a fine of £200.00 and 3 points on her license. She is 32 years old and a primary school teacher at Morecambe Bay Primary School. Year 2 she teaches.
Peter also has a DV charge (Domestic Abuse) on record from March 2005. Lucy was the one to call the police on her husband as he was drunk and was angry about finding flirty messages from one of Lucy’s male work friend. Police were called and Peter was charged with DV – threatening behaviour. He was told to go to anger management and therapy.
Peter is a bus driver at stagecoach, and would normally lose their position due to carting around young and venerable passengers, but peter’s manager decided to give him the benefit of the doubt.
“Leila, you coming to join us, “asked Dave
|”Yeah, coming now.
Lucy Mackin I will see you soon …………………….
